How Does It Work?
Download the HASHWallet application and pair your card by bringing it close to your cell phone (NFC)
Your cryptographic keys are generated within the secure environment of the card, complying with the highest security standards (Secure Element Certified EAL+6).
Start the process from your Zero-Knowledge Backup Center account by requesting a Backup of your card, which we will send to you uninitialized. Upon activation, it will be paired with your encrypted data stored in the eSignus Zero-Knowledge Backup Center Vault.
The master key is not stored in the Secure Element. It always requires the sending of information from the Manager (via NFC), so the loss of the card does not represent any security risk.

Enter your sequence of 12, 18 or 24 keywords using the HASHWallet Manager application. Enhance security by adding a passphrase. You can rest assured that these keys are generated securely within the card's Certified Secure Element.
Our team employs rigorous security protocols to protect your recovery settings. You can always maintain personal custody of your passwords, giving you the freedom to regenerate your passwords whenever you wish.

Only the user has access to their Zero-Knowledge Vault and can initiate the recovery process by requesting a new card. This requires access to their email and mobile phone. The keys are always generated on the secure element of the card and cannot be extracted in any way. Your keys are completely private and solely yours. Even if eSignus is potentially requested by a government or law enforcement to do so, we at eSignus can not recover anything.
Your security is our top priority. That's why one component of your backup is stored offline in Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) during the card's manufacturing, while the other component is under your control in a Zero-Knowledge, open-source software-based Vault.
If you want heirs for your crypto funds, you must give them a Backup Card. The next step is for your heirs to get access to your phone line as access to their inheritance.
They can not use the HASHWallet Link card before its initialization, so they will need access to your email (which you might not have given anyone) or phone line. This way, they will only have access to the crypto funds after your death.
